J&M, Inc. was founded by Manuel Marques Jr. in 1957 and incorporated in 1958. Manuel Marques III joined his father in 1977 followed by brother Michael Marques in 1979. In 2006, after 49 years in Hayward, CA, J&M, Inc. relocated the corporate office and equipment yard to Livermore, CA, where it remains today. After 33 years as President, Manuel Marques III became CEO in 2019 while promoting his son, Manuel Marques IV, as President, and daughter, Brittany Haydock, as Secretary/Treasurer. John M. DeFreitas joined J&M, Inc. in 2018 as Vice President. The third-generation J&M, Inc. brings renewed energy, a modern approach, and technology to ensure J&M, Inc. remains a prominent name as an underground wet utilities contractor into the future. J&M, Inc. is fortunate to be surrounded by an experienced, competent, and devoted Team of professionals; some of which remain with J&M, Inc. for more than 30 years.
